It is 7:05 AM Friday Morning and I went to bed last night at 1:00. Today I will play in my first Escalation game at the local GW store. And tomorrow I will play maybe another Escalation game, but also a 2k game against my Knight friend here at home in the Scrap City.

Hobby update: I am slowly rebasing miniatures as I use them. I am finding it easy to remove the base on most of the flat plastics. Some are slota-bases both plastic and metal. Those are easier to remove, but hard to glue back on the bases.
Also, I got some paint on some boyz. I got 8 shootas, 1 tankbusta, 1 grot oiler, and my evil suns weird boy. This took me about 4 hours of painting to get them from black primer to painted, highlighted, washed, and flocked. I feel pretty accomplished. And I am looking forward to do more.




Army list: So after getting smooshed by the Kinights last time, I am making a list that will hopefully do better, but it does rely on shooting. I have lots of command points and barely spending any before the game. I took two big mobs and one that is at 10. The intention is to mob up and jump a 40 mob, roll up with tankbustas and the warboss in the deffrolla to get stuck in. To power that up I can use Get Stuck in, Boarding action (if I don’t want to charge with the tankbustas), and Ramming Speed to make sure I get in and maybe to some Mortal Wounds. If need be I can do the unstoppable green tide to keep him distracted as I shoot him with the scrapjets and shokk attack guns. The def kopta will come in later to contest or get objectives and the grots will protect the two shokk attacks and the weird boy.

Looking for feed back on this list, do you have any ideas about this?

Lock Down Hobby Time #1 Road Bases in 10 easy steps!

So during lock down, I have been able to get some painting time. Through the miracle of not commuting 2 hours a day and nap time for my children, I can get a good 1 -3 hours a day about 4 days a week to paint and hobby. I have finished up painting most of the Speed Freeks, or at least the ones I use in games on the regular, so when it came time to base them I wanted to base them the same as my bikers: Cork, dashed road lines, and nothing fancy. So I started with the stencil I’d use to make the dashed lines. The biker bases I free handed the lines, and that was a pain being about 5 minutes per base, it took too long. Also, I got some lines messed up and dashes that were unequal in size. Using a stencil was the best bet. I had never made one before but I saw some guy on FB make one using tape, so I did that. Tournament what...?

Games played So, I have realized that the last 6 games I've played, I lost. To recap, game 1, 500 points against Matrix (and his one knight) I lost by a point and 1 wound. Game 2, full 2k against Matrix and his Death Watch (DW), Lost by not playing for objectives and realizing the glass hammer of Orks. Game 3, Matrix again, but optimized to kill knights, I lost by him killing me, duh... this game I played a list I didn't like. Game 4, against King and lost because I charged Berserkers and could not use unstoppable green tide. Game 5, was a Kill Team game against Jeep, where I charge a Thunder Hammer wielding Gray Knight with my Tyranid Warrior Leader and lost, because he had hammer of wrath.
