good Friday

So Friday was a good day. After work I took a power nap and awoke to go to Hollingshead. There Roommate and I had some great beers. He had a pint of the Stone Imperial Russian Stout that was on nitro and Oskar Blues Gordon. I had a German lager that was lack luster enough to not remember the name and the 2007 Old Guardian. This is what I have a 1/2 barrel keg of in the house. It was tasty, and the idea of splitting that keg into three 5 gallons is getting more and more attractive. Then we went to the Angel game where we proceeded to win. So games attended is .500 out of two. I am going again on Tuesday so it will be .666 or .333 by the end of Tuesday.

Today I have nothing really to do so I am going to cook. I am planning to make this. So I'll add some pictures later. but now it is time to go shopping.

Update on beer from last week: The PDP has pretty much stopped bubbling. I am still planning to keep it in the primary fermenter till next weekend. The Gas Can IPA is still bubbling. It was quite a symphony of bubbling having three beers at once going...

Kogi's will have to what another week. I was unsuccessful at motivating the natives to this SoCal attraction.

Lock Down Hobby Time #1 Road Bases in 10 easy steps!

So during lock down, I have been able to get some painting time. Through the miracle of not commuting 2 hours a day and nap time for my children, I can get a good 1 -3 hours a day about 4 days a week to paint and hobby. I have finished up painting most of the Speed Freeks, or at least the ones I use in games on the regular, so when it came time to base them I wanted to base them the same as my bikers: Cork, dashed road lines, and nothing fancy. So I started with the stencil I’d use to make the dashed lines. The biker bases I free handed the lines, and that was a pain being about 5 minutes per base, it took too long. Also, I got some lines messed up and dashes that were unequal in size. Using a stencil was the best bet. I had never made one before but I saw some guy on FB make one using tape, so I did that. Tournament what...?

Games played So, I have realized that the last 6 games I've played, I lost. To recap, game 1, 500 points against Matrix (and his one knight) I lost by a point and 1 wound. Game 2, full 2k against Matrix and his Death Watch (DW), Lost by not playing for objectives and realizing the glass hammer of Orks. Game 3, Matrix again, but optimized to kill knights, I lost by him killing me, duh... this game I played a list I didn't like. Game 4, against King and lost because I charged Berserkers and could not use unstoppable green tide. Game 5, was a Kill Team game against Jeep, where I charge a Thunder Hammer wielding Gray Knight with my Tyranid Warrior Leader and lost, because he had hammer of wrath.
