On the hour (12 - 5), we’ll be opening bottles of barrel aged Papier on the side of the main bar (2 oz. per person).
I am interested in the sours and the barrel aged Papier. They did a pre sale of the Paiper for $30 a bottle and there are three different types.
I made the red beans and rice that I posted last week and it was good, but I need to change a couple of things. I used a Turkey Keilbasa, which was fine, but I needed to not follow the recipe and cut them into smaller chunks. Also, I needed it to be a bit spicier. I am thinking some smoked jalapinos or maybe like a half of a habanero. Also, instead of using canned beans, again which were fine, I would like to make my own beans to put in. Other than that one recipe feed Roommate and I with enough lefts overs that I ate it 4 times the following week.
I just got Desert Commander, and it is just like I remember it. It is a slow paced turned based strategy game for NES. The graphics are horrible; sometimes it is hard to tell what I am looking at, namely the command unit, the anit aircraft and the aircraft. (they look like flys in the air) I especially like the resupply screen. The little man that is is running with the barrel of whatever is endearing and reminds me of my youth. The game play is tough. I played vs the COM(puter) on the first conflict and it beat me. Next up I kicked its butt in four turns. Using aircraft to go after the commander is the best and quickest way to win. Just be sure to stop the COM from doing the same. The music was truely horrible 8-bit symphony, however you can pick your posion between four songs. Option number four is similar to a military march cadence with a constant drum beat. The sound effects are all the same, whether you destroy a tank, a plane , or infantry. The sound is reminiscent of playing with little army men in the sand box in the back yard, where I would squish my lips together and blow out, usually with some spit, as an imagined explosion happens. This is a truly great 8-bit sound effect that creators of retro-flash games should sample and use.
The Angels game that I went to they lost. The pitching was lacking and horrible and Boston took advantage of it. Girlfriend and I were very tired and we left in the 8th and listened to the game on the radio on the way home. So I am now .333 foir game attended for the season.
Polka Dot Porter will be transferred tomorrow as well and 5 split vanilla beans added into the beer. Gas Can IPA is coming along nicely as well, it should be a great beer.
That is all for now...
