Food, games and some more food

So this was a fun weekend for food and games.

First, yesterday, I finally made the Bean & 'Bello Burger from a recipe I found on Epicurious. I was really hungry and looking forward to making this. It ended up being rater bland. I still have some of the mix left, but I think I will add salt, and liquid smoke flavor to make it better. Also, some cheese will make it better. It looked real nice, but was on the bland side.

I told my roommate about the thing with Legend of Zelda and he got an itch to play his old Atari. We broke it out and played for about an hour. Asteroids rocks! And I rock at it. This is my high score.

This morning I went for a run and felt really energized, so I made this for breakfast. It was mainly left overs from the Bean & Bello burger. I did not have Fontina, so I used my next favorite cheese: Veletta. It was yummy, and if I have the ingredients on hand again I will make it more often.

Today we are making more beer, Roommate is making a Belgium Triple. I will be adding photos of this once I get them. Later on I will be making this for dinner. This recipe I printed out when I was still working at the CU, so I have wanted to make it for a while. And it fits into the Diet Challenge that Girlfriend and I agreed to for the month of February. We are eating no cow, pig, chicken, or lamb. Pretty much it is vegetarian/pesce/uovo. The only thing that went outside of this realm so far was beans that I made in January that I used a chicken stock to make. It was a pound of beens and they would have gone bad before then.

Oh here are some pictures of Kings Wings. I made these to test out for The Big game and invited my buddy King over. He loved them so much he paid me to make them again. Being poor and somewhat unemployed I consented. They are now names Kings wings. It is a long process for such small little pieces of meat, but they are damn tasty and I have ruined some friends on wings. First you steam them, then smoked them, then bake them and then toss in sauce. I made two sauces. One was Girlfriend's idea, a sweet bourbon sauce. The second was one from Mr. Flay that had little sugar in it, but plenty of spice. They are awesome. I will make some again in March.

UPDATE: I am now three hours away from a winning bid on a NES that includes Zelda, the only problem is if I win, I will go over my limit of $40 if I get the Advantage controller. Maybe I can sell so of the supplementary items I'll get from the auction to recoup the cost of the Advantage.

That is all for now...
